The wood is hand picked and only the best maple with the strongest
figure and alpine spruce is selected for the character and
lightness to produce a wonderful tonal range.
Colin takes care to choose superior wood for his instruments,
which often takes him overseas, this ensures the best tonal
quality needed by the player.

The varnish is made by using traditional gums, oils and pigments
when this is applied to the wood it no only enhances the aesthetic
look of the instruments but protects and helps the resonance
of each instrument.
